Sir Bob Cornelius Rifo, aka The Bloody Beetroots, has taken an interesting new approach to releasing a single, by first releasing the sheet music. A move first made by Beck, who released his last album, Song Reader, only as sheet music, Rifo hopes for fans to fully understand the intent of his art.
“The composition of the song was so natural that it would be a shame not to share its full meaning with the fans,” Rifo told The Huffington Post.
The new song, “Chronicles Of A Fallen Love”, features the vocals of Greta Svabo Bech – whom you might know from Deadmau5′s “Raise Your Weapon”. The sheet music was released today via The Bloody Beetroots website, and they want fans to release their own covers of the track via YouTube, using the hashtag “#COAFL” to help find them.
“By playing a song, you can make it your own,” Bech said. “There is an artistic license for people to mold what they read to fit into their own ears. I don’t think it matters that every part of the song is captured in sheet music. The colors are there. Let the listeners paint!
The official Bloody Beetroots track will be released October 23rd. The sheet music is available now.
