Earlier this month, The City of Union City, NJ, Mayor Brian P. Stack & the Board of Commissioners unveiled plans to rename a block of Bergenline Avenue (from 14th to 15th street), “Erick Morillo Way”, in honor of the legendary house DJ who grew up there. According to the city’s official press release, as a “success story in the music industry. Mr. Morillo serves as a role model for many children growing up in Union City.” The ceremony and unveiling was held Thursday night.
