Calvin Harris spoke with the BBC News yesterday about his new album 18 Months, and the number of outside collaborators he chose to work with. The interview asked if he “turned down Lady Gaga”, Calvin more or less agreed with the statement, suggesting that this was before she was a star, and that the songs sent to him were more like her album cuts, than any of her hit singles. When asked if he regretted the decision, he said no.

This errupted in a brief spat on Twitter, where Gaga fired off at Calvin, suggesting “never even emailed you @calvinharris I guess it’s hard to believe I write + produce my music. cuz I’m a woman I don’t know about EDM right?”

Calvin explained, “@ladygaga no your label emailed me. I always make sure I say Im a fan when asked about it, I apologize if I offended u, wasn’t the intention.

Gaga pulled back and apologized with the reply, “@CalvinHarris thanks for the apology &explaining. My apologies too. Congratulations on your album. Wish you well. Cheers.”

Maybe they can put this incident aside and find a way to collaborate in the future?
